With my day job, I have a lot of road time between home, the office, and the courthouses and office buildings I have calls at. Along with the travel comes radio stations going in and out and the need to constantly be changing stations. Well, it didn’t take long for this to get old and for me to start listening, mostly to podcast while driving. One in particular, that I have become a huge fan of, is the Nerdist podcast from Chris Hardwick. Before Chris Hardwick mentioned Tweaked Audio as a sponsor, I had never heard of them. If I ever have the opportunity to meet him, I’d be tempted to actually thank him for turning me on to Tweaked Audio’s ear buds, but I doubt I’ll ever have such sound of mind to think that through at the time. Anyway, I’m getting off topic….
Prior to the Nerdist Podcast, I had only ever used the ear buds that came with my iPhone, and a cheap pair I bought at a local store one day. Fortunately I listened to my impulse and purchased a pair of the Tweaked Audio High-Performance, Noise-reducing ear buds from the website, and boy am I glad I did!
When it comes to work, I drive a “work van” similar to what you’ll see out on the road driven by other forms of technicians. Unfortunately, although the van gives me room to haul any type of equipment I could need out in the field, it is far from the most quiet of modes of asphalt transportation. When I started listening to podcasts, I enjoyed being able to put the ear buds in and drown out some of the noise that came with driving the van. (mostly a lot of wind noise, and some occasional rattling from the equipment in the back) To really be able to hear what was being said on certain podcasts, I’d find I’d have to turn the volume up all the way, to compensate for all the external noise. I can say, straight out, that it blew my mind, how much noise was getting through, or the other perspective, how much noise is actually blocked out, by Tweaked Audio’s ear buds!
So, what’s the deal? Well Tweaked Audio has 3 lines of ear buds: Tweaked, Classic, and Natural. I went with the green Tweaked version. (pictured) Each lines have a unique quality of their own, but all will give you the best sound, at least for myself, that I’ve ever had out of a set of ear buds. I myself, picking the Tweaked line, was purely a personal preference. All the Tweaked Audio ear buds come with three interchangeable ear gel adapters, to make sure you can get the best fit, realizing that “one size fits all” does not work really well with ear buds. They also come with a nice carrying bag (might sound silly to some, but I’ve actually used it to keep them from getting trashed ) and a one-year warranty.

THE COMMENTARY
I’m not going to sit here and try to make myself sound like a major audiophile where I know all about these types of things and can tell with precision the slight difference between the audio sounds come from certain speakers. No, I’m a guy that travels a lot, and enjoys listening to people talk about random things while he drives. I do however can tell when something does what it promises to do. Tweaked Audio says that theirs are high-performance, noise-reducing ear buds, and everything that I have experienced this past month says they are right on the money with that claim. I no longer have to have my volume at full to be able to make out certain things over the noises in my work vehicle. I can drown out everything else and just listen to what’s coming through those little speakers in my ears, and at times, especially when you need it, that is pure bliss. I actually plan on purchasing another pair as “backup” prior to going on vacation this summer, so take it from me, you won’t be disappointed with these.
I give them a 5 out of 5
**Disclaimer** I did NOT receive anything from Tweaked Audio nor have I ever been offered or requested anything from them. I purchased these ear buds on my own with my own funds and this review is of my opinion only.
