UPDATE:The solution to the issue of the 70′s Batman and Earth One Batman skins not loading has be determined. Check bottom of the post for more info
Warner Bros has given us what is hopefully the first of many updates that add to the gameplay of Batman Arkham City Lockdown for iOS. The update gives up two new Batman skins (70’s and Earth One) along with iCloud support and the typical bug fixes. However this update appears to have bugs of its own, including a major one, not allowing some users to take advantage of the new skins.
Version 1.1 of the game is listed as follows:
NOW UPDATED WITH TWO NEW BATMAN SKINS AND iCLOUD!!
Updated to include:
PLAY ON MULTIPLE DEVICES
Use iCloud to seamlessly switch between the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Pick up on one device where you left off on another.
TWO NEW BATMAN SKINS
Two new skins, with all new stats, extend your game and provide new challenges. Get 70’s Batman and Earth One Batman skins with the current update. 70’s Batman is included as a free download.
GAMEPLAY UPDATES
· Minor gameplay and AI tweaks to enhance your experience.
· Minor bug fixes to address variable device performance.
After download the update, I have successfully used the iCloud support between my iPhone 4s and iPad 2. Nothing has to be done for your saved games to become available on other devices. Once you have the game updated on all your devices, you will see a small icon of Apples iCloud next to an empty game save slot. Clicking the cloud will import your saved game. This worked flawlessly, bring my saved game from my iPhone over to my iPad.
The problems come up with the skins. The 70’s Batman skin is available free, and is shown in the available batsuits. You’re able to select it, but when you go into gameplay, you’re not equipped with the 70s suit, but the default one. Also, when you go to buy the Earth One suit, all you get is a “Waiting” bar, with nothing ever happening. Restarting the game, the device, nothing to this point has helped with the correction of the problem. These problems occurred on both of my devices.
Searching online has shown that a few more people have had the same issue, but no resolution has been found yet. If you are having this issue, or have a fix for it, feel free to leave a comment below.
THE FIX: You can uninstalled the game from your device, and reinstall it. That fixed the issue with me, and with the use of iCloud, I was able to retried my previous game saves.
