Logitech Tablet Keyboard (for iPad) – Reviewed

Do you own an iPad?  Do you currently use it mostly for games and/or reading?  Do you realize the potential that you have at your fingertips?  Until this week, I honestly didn’t, and all it took was a keyboard.  I’ll come out and admit, when I first considered using a keyboard on my iPad, it just didn’t seem reasonable.  I mean I have my work laptop and old desktop to use for typing and whatnot, and using the iPad just didn’t seem like a great option, with or without a keyboard.  Well let me tell you friends, I have been proven wrong, and as they say, the proof is in the pudding.  I’m writing this review with just such a keyboard.  The keyboard in question: The Logitech Tablet Keyboard for iPad.  I grabbed this on a whim during my Christmas shopping, and am glad I did.  Just the chance to sit here and type onto my iPad has been a pleasant surprise.  The pairing of the keyboard to my iPad 2 took as long as it took me to find the switch to turn Bluetooth on in my settings.  My iPad found it near immediately, and I was off!  Seriously it couldn’t be simpler if you wanted it to be.

TLogitech Tablet Keyboard (for iPad)he keyboard itself is small, comparable to the size of a laptop keyboard. The keys comfortable and respond well. The keyboard itself is fairly light but still maintains a sturdy feel.  The iPad specific control keys, along with the slipcover which can be used as a stand for your iPad are also nice additions.

The size might be an issue for some as its fairly compact, comparable to a laptop keyboard, which I know some people are not fans of.  However, it’s a keyboard that can travel with you and be used with your iPad (or iPhone/iPod touch) so you can’t complain about the size.  I’m able to type with it with no issues, so it does exactly what its supposed to do and as advertised to do.

I will come out and admit I bought this as a “toy” more then anything, something I could say I had, but never saw me having much true use for it. Well I can say I’m a sold believer in a keyboard to be used with the iPad now, especially if you do any form of typing. I can’t say how the Logitech compares to others on the market as it’s the first one I’ve ever used, but I can say that as far as I’m concerned, this one works precisely how its meant to work. No delays while typing in Pages, a good comfortable full-size keyboard, a case for it to be carried in that doubles as the stand for your iPad, it’s an all in one package perfect for anyone.

If you use a keyboard with your iOS devices, or have a favorite one after using a few, let me know in the comments below, as I’d love to know of more to check out.
