The Latest Doctor Who Rumor Roundup

If rumblings and rumors continue at this pace, I might end up making this a weekly post. Here are a collection of the latest rumors about Series 7 of Doctor Who and beyond.

The Ponds might be leaving sooner than we’re expecting. Karen Gillan was asked at a recent US press event about how many episodes she will appear in with the next series, and she was quoted saying “There’s going to be a few episodes, a few really good episodes.” Then again, this could simply mean that they’re story will be stretched out, making the eventual exit that much more agonizing.
The big rumor of the week has been the possible return of Madame Pompadour from the episode The Girl in the Fireplace. The rumor came from a few separate tweets between Moffat and Sophia Myles.

Along with that, Myles herself has helped fuel the flames with a few tweets of her own. Including telling one fan to “ask the Moff” when asked if she was going to be the Doctor’s new companion.
Could the new Doctor already being considered? Actor Adrian Lester was on Graham Norton’s radio show where he was asked if he would consider taking on the role as the next Doctor. He replied with “I’ve had chats with my agent about it. We’re going to-and-fro about considering it” then quickly added to that saying “Not that it’s on my lap to consider, but any actor offered that role would”
Early rumors are suggesting that the Yeti, a classic monster from the 60s and 70s is set for a return in Series 7.
Mark Gatiss looks to be penning an episode for Series 7. He previously wrote Victory of the Daleks and Night Terrors, including others.
Up to this point, it has not been confirmed, nor denied that Series 7 will be split like Series 6. With the new series containing 14 episodes, it lends itself to be split, but I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
