Does the Lizard try and turn Peter into one of him in The Amazing Spider-Man

Okay, feel free to rip me if you want, but I noticed this when slowly going through the trailer, and I don’t remember ever hearing about this as a plot point in the film.

Look at the screenshots below. The first is the show when they zoom in on Peter after the police unmask him, the next two are for comparison. Look at his eyes. Could the Lizard attempt to turn Peter? Or could this been when he tries to turn the SWAT team? Or is it just lighting and I’m completely out of my mind?
