Heads up Kentucky, you’re about to get an increase in geekiness come March, and no I’m not referring to the Wildcats and March Madness. On Saturday, March 24th, The Lexington Comic & Toy Convention hits the Heritage Hall East in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Boasting a guest list that includes people such as Bob McLeod, Jonny Fairplay and Jason David Frank and having exhibits from some of the greatest talent around, including locals such as Jenny Stead, Beaucoup Pop, Cindy Ramey, and Natasha Collier from Kentucky Geek Girl, this convention definitely has something for everyone!
There will be plenty of places that I will…..I mean that YOU can spend money, with a growing list of exhibitors and vendors spaced out across nearly 200 tables. If you’re looking for guests, there are plenty including a mini Power Rangers Reunion, with Jason David Frank, Paul Schrier, Jason Narvy, Catherine Sutherland, and Nakia Burrise. Writers such as Craig Boldman and Don Glut, actress Bonnie Piesse, who played Beru in the newer Star Wars Trilogy, and Reality TV personality Jonny Fairplay from Survivor, plus local favorite Drew Curtis from Fark.com are just a few of the growing guest list. Aside from the vendors, artists, publishers, celebrities and media personalities, there will also be door prizes, including a $300 cash grand prize costume contest.
With this being the conventions first year, they’re setting a firm foundation that they can build upon. The Location of Lexington will benefit them in years to come as word spreads about this newest convention, already showing strength as one of the best in this part of the United State. Geekasms will be there, covering the convention from top to bottom, so continue to check back here for more updates and articles covering the convention as the weeks lead up to it.
