Fallout Season 2 Trailer Teases Deathclaws as New Poster Drops
Amazon is cranking up the hype machine for Fallout season 2, dropping both a brand-new poster and the first trailer ahead of its December premiere.
The trailer wastes no time messing with fans, flashing the briefest glimpses of the infamous Deathclaw without ever showing the beast in full. Anyone who’s spent hours in the wasteland knows that’s more than enough to stir dread. Even The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), hardened survivor that he is, instantly slips into panic mode at the sight, while Lucy (Ella Purnell) looks on with her trademark wide-eyed curiosity, blissfully unaware of just how bad a Deathclaw encounter can get.
For the uninitiated, Deathclaws are the stuff of Fallout nightmares, towering more than 10 feet tall, armored like tanks, faster than they should be, and armed with claws that can shred a wanderer in a single swipe. In the games, crossing one often meant a brutal “reload last save” moment, and the show looks set to capture that same terror.
Alongside the trailer, Prime Video has also unveiled the first poster for the new season, leaning into the bleak and chaotic vibe that made season one such a surprise breakout hit.
Production on season 2 kicked off in late 2024 but was delayed due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Despite that, Amazon doubled down on the series early, renewing it for both season 2 and 3 before the new season even airs.
Returning cast includes Walton Goggins as The Ghoul/Cooper Howard, Ella Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank, Michael Emerson as Wilzig, and Johnny Pemberton as Thaddeus. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy (the duo behind Westworld) developed the series, with Nolan once again directing the opening episodes.
As Goggins teased: “Now that people understand what the world is, this story just takes it to a whole other level. Usually, the second season is when some real magic can happen.”
Fallout Season 2 premieres this December exclusively on Prime Video.
