Back to Hogwarts surprise: Pottermore & Audible add new voices to Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions
If you’re celebrating Back to Hogwarts today, there’s fresh magic to go with your Butterbeer. Pottermore Publishing and Audible just revealed more fan-favorite roles for their upcoming Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions—and the casting fits like it was chosen by the Sorting Hat.
The new additions
- Mark Addy (Game of Thrones) as Rubeus Hagrid
- Daniel Mays (Rogue One, Line of Duty) as Dobby
- Alex Hassell (The Boys, Rivals) as Lucius Malfoy
- Sara & Avni Deshmukh (Iconicakes) as the Patil twins
These join the previously announced headliners: Hugh Laurie (Dumbledore), Matthew Macfadyen (Voldemort), Riz Ahmed (Snape), Michelle Gomez (McGonagall), and Cush Jumbo OBE as narrator. The “Golden Trio” will be voiced by two ensembles across the series: Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, Arabella Stanton (Books 1–3), then Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, Nina Barker-Francis (Books 4–7).
A sonic Hogwarts, built at blockbuster scale
These are brand-new, unabridged productions with full-cast performances, Dolby Atmos sound design, original music, and real-world sound capture—meant to complement (not replace) the classic single-voice editions by Jim Dale and Stephen Fry. Pottermore says over 200 actors have logged 2,000+ recording hours to create a truly immersive listen.
