After months of radio silence and one painful delay, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse finally has a new official release date—and it’s one worth marking your calendars for.
During Sony Pictures’ big CinemaCon presentation, the studio revealed that the epic conclusion to the Spider-Verse trilogy will now hit theaters on June 4, 2027.
Originally slated for March 2024, Beyond the Spider-Verse was pulled from the calendar last summer, leaving fans in the lurch after Across the Spider-Verse ended on one of the biggest cliffhangers in superhero film history. But now, the wait has a finish line—and we’ve got new visuals to drool over in the meantime.
While the teaser shown at CinemaCon hasn’t made its way online (yet), Sony did drop some jaw-dropping promo images featuring Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and a new look at the Prowler—and yes, it’s that Prowler.

Producer Phil Lord confirmed that the film picks up immediately after the events of Across the Spider-Verse, promising a “massive finale” that will once again push the limits of what animation can do. “We’re going to break the boundaries again,” Lord said, and at this point, we believe him.
Directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are steering the ship this time around, and the returning voice cast is as stacked as ever:
- Shameik Moore as Miles
- Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen
- Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara
- Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker
- Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, and more.
Speaking of Henry—who voices Miles’ dad, Jefferson Morales—he was recently asked about the film’s progress, and while he played coy, his answer may have given us more than intended.
“It has to be concluded. Can you imagine if we were like, ‘That’s it. He’s in a portal and that’s it’?”
“There’s not going to be a dry eye in the house. I’ll tell you that. Good luck. It’s not going to wrap up in a nice little bow.”
That… sounds ominous.
If you’ll recall, Across the Spider-Verse ended with Miles trapped on Earth-42, face to face with his alternate self—the Prowler—and far from the world he thought was his own. With no Spider-Man to protect that version of Brooklyn, the stakes are higher than ever.
What happens to Jefferson? Can Miles return home? Can he rewrite his fate—or anyone else’s?
We’ve got just over two years to agonize over those questions. But make no mistake—Beyond the Spider-Verse is coming. And it’s going to hit hard.
