Sony Pictures has revealed the first trailer for their final Tom Hardy lead Venom film, appropriately titled Venom: The Last Dance.
“Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest & most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
There is a lot to unpack from just the trailer, but the main takeaway is that Sony cares nothing about their universe or continuity. You could tell me that Alex Kurtzman was overseeing the Sony Spider-man-less universe, and I’d believe you. Between a scene undoing the after-credits scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home, and having Rhys Ifans, with two arms, appearing as a hippie, this trailer alone ensures this film exists in some type of universal limbo.
The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham.
Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25th.
